Travel to Jena to the workshop

By plane

  • International airports are in Frankfurt/Main, Berlin, or Munich. If you arrive at Frankfurt-Airport, it will be most convenient to travel on using an "InterCityExpress" (ICE) train to Jena. Intercity trains stop at the Airport Terminal 2. Change train in Erfurt for a short (30 minutes) trip on the local train to Jena (total riding time about 3,5 hours). Arrival at Jena-West.
  • If you arrive at Berlin Brandenburg Airport, use public transportation to get to the train station (Berlin Südkreuz). Take an "InterCityExpress" (ICE) train to Erfurt. Change train in Erfurt for a short (30 minutes) trip on the local train to Jena (total riding time about 3 hours).
  • If you arrive in Munich, use public transportation to get to the train station (Munich Central Station). Take an "InterCityExpress" (ICE) train to Erfurt. Change train in Erfurt for a short (30 minutes) trip on the local train to Jena (total riding time about 4,5 hours).
  • From European destinations you can book a flight to Leipzig. Use public transportation to get to the train station (Leipzig Central Station). Take a train to Jena via Halle, via Naumburg or via Erfurt (total riding time 1,5 – 2 hours)). A direct connection to Jena (Jena-Paradies) is offered every 2 hours (total riding time 1 hour)
  • The traveling time from the airport in Erfurt is about 1 hour by car or 1,5 hours by public transportation and local train to Jena.

By train

  • From North and South: the "InterCityExpress" (ICE) connection Berlin-Munich stops at Erfurt. Change train in Erfurt for a short (30 minutes) trip on the local train to Jena.
  • From West and East: "InterCityExpress" (ICE) connection Frankfurt-Dresden stops at Erfurt. Change train in Erfurt for a short (30 minutes) trip on the local train to Jena.

By car

  • Coming from the East or West: Highway A 4 (Frankfurt/Main-Jena-Dresden). Take exit #54 (Jena-Lobeda) and turn left (North) to reach Jena city.
  • Coming from the North or South: Highway A 9 (Berlin-Munich). At the highway interchange Hermsdorf (#24) change to highway A4 to the West (heading towards Frankfurt/Main), take exit #54 (Jena-Lobeda). Turn left (North) to reach Jena city.
